Project 658M – 7 units: Severnoe mashinostroitel`noe predpriyatie, Severodvinsk – K-19 14.12.1961-30.12.1963, Zvezdochka, Severodvinsk – K-16 30.01.1969-27.01.1971, K-33 25.10.1962-29.12.1964, K-40 1.07.1966-18.01.1968, K-55 3.04.1965-28.03.1968, K-149 3.04.1965-5.04.1966, Bol`shoy Kamen` Zvezda – K-178 8.06.1965-27.06.1968. 4030/5000 tons, draught 7,3 m, D-4 missile complex (3 R-21 ballistic missiles launchers (4K55)), crew - 128, Plutoniy mine detection sonar, Sigma-658 navigation complex, VIPS launchers (SGAPD MG-24, MG-34). Then ballistic missiles was replaced by R-21M. On some submarines missile complex was removed: K-16 10.02.1982-20.07.1985

Project 658U – 2 units: Zvezda, Bol`shoy Kamen` – K-55 10.1981-25.04.1983, K-178 3.11.1982-31.12.1984. Missile complex was removed.
Project 658S – 1 unit: SRZ-10, Polyarny – K-19 22.11.1975-30.11.1979. Missile complex was removed.
On K-16 missile complex was removed 10.02.1982-20.07.1985. For anti-submarines detection system trials.
Unrealized modifications: Project A658 – with D-5 missile complex (R-27 ballistic missiles)
